Manchester United put one foot into the Champions League semi final with an excellent 1-0 victory at Stamford Bridge last night. It was a thoroughly professional performance by the visitors although they rode their luck in the dying embers of the game where Ramires was sent tumbling in the box in what was a stonewall penalty however the referee decided to wave play on.
In the papers this morning there has been more fallout about the penalty that wasn’t given at Stamford Bridge; Alan Pardew backing Joey Barton, while Harry Redknapp jumps to the defence of Aaron Lennon.
